Glowpots was started in March 2005 in Rondevlei, Garden Route, South Africa. It began as a small sole proprietorship, with the intention of providing jobs for historically-disadvantaged local women and is now in the process of becoming a BEE (Black Economic Empowered) company, all part of the Rondevlei Rural Women Community Project.
